A Short Introduction to Pisang Peak Climbing in Nepal

When it comes to peak climbing in Nepal there are absolutely no shortage of options. From Island Peak climbing to Meera Peak climbing you will be overwhelmed with such a large range of options.

However, Pisang Peak is certainly one of the most renowned peaks amongst the hiking peaks in the Annapurna province of Nepal. It’s on the way to highest pass of the globe and provides good opportunity for journeying. The western side of the mountain is protected by a lynching glacier that provides a considerable challenge for the trekkers. The western side of the border has massive rock slabs, which make it tough to ascend. A German traveler made the 1st climb of Pisang Peak in 1955 and from that day it has been something of considerable remark, hikers with little knowledge in hiking can unite the famous Annapurna circuit hike with Pisang Peak climbing to have the flavor of real peak climbing in Nepal. The summit rises above Pisang village & yak pastures in a homogeneous slope of snow and ice to the final peak pyramid. Due to all these reasons, Pisang peak is known as one of the most technical peak climbing in Nepal.

How our Pisan Peak Expedition Happen:

Firstly, we leave to Besisahar from Katmandu and begin trek enroute common Annapurna Circuit routes and reach Pisang in 5 days. To arrive at the base camp from Pisang village, the path ascends through sparse wood and pasture to a Kharka at (4,380m) which is considered the finest place for setting up the base camp. High Camp is set up at (5,400m) hiking to a shoulder on the South-West Ridge. There will be snow at the high camp from the end of November to the end of March. The well-defined borders leads to the final snow slop which is rather steep and little tough to reach the peak. Summit of the peak offers really awesome views of the Annapurna group encompassing Tilicho Peak, Annapurna II and IV, Ghangapurna and the Glacier Dome. Pisang Peak is really a "sightseeing peak. Descent is made on the same route. Following a successful summit, we persists our trek to Manang valley and persist further up to Thorong Pedi. We’ll cross a highest pass of the world, Thorong pass at early morning and will arrive Muktinath, another part of the Annapurna. We descend further down through picturesque Jharkot village, Kagbeni, a gate way to Upper Mustang and reach jomsom, a capital of Mustang where a small airstrip has on the bank of Kaligandaki River from where we take an early morning flight back to Pokhara and the journey ends.
